julie,
i often frequent times and seasons and also your best books blog. i really just wanted to ask you how you read those books out loud to your children? I have twins who are three months shy of four and a baby thats one year and 4 months. just some tips on how to start reading non-picture books to them and what to do with the baby. i just want to add that you seem rather amazing and capable, and in trying to find out how to email you i discover you cook too. so how about an advise column?
Striving,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm not amazing, I just don't blog about things I'm not good at!
Anyway, about reading: I would say that your kids are a little too young for non-picture books, but when the twins get closer to five, you could experiment with reading something such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Charlotte's Web to them. I would do it when your younger one is napping and I would be sure that the twins had something to do with their hands: legos, coloring, play-doh, etc.
Good luck. And you can email me at my first name at timesandseasons dot org.
